Section 12.08.030 Civil duties and personal injury.

    The obligation to remove snow or ice from sidewalks shall be as follows, for purposes of civil liability for person injury:
    A.    Removal of snow or ice from sidewalks, to the extent that removal is required by state law, shall be the exclusive obligation of the owner (and any tenant or lessee) of the property to which a sidewalk is contiguous. Civil liability for personal injuries resulting from the failure to remove snow or ice from sidewalks, to the extent that removal is required by state law, shall be borne by the owner (and any tenant or lessee) of property.
    B.     This section in enacted pursuant to UCA 10-8.23 for the purpose of describing the person who shall perform duties which may exist from time to time under state law in relation to removing snow or ice from sidewalks. (Added during 1993 recodification)
