Section 13.08.040 Abandoned utility service connections.

Upon the written request of the property owner, a water service connection and associated metering or any sewer service connection may be abandoned when improvements to the property serviced by such service connection no longer exist. Whenever a water service connection or sewer service connection is abandoned in favor of a new service connection at a different property address, the old water service connection shall be disconnected at the meter with the meter and meter barrel being removed by Vernal City. The cost of all such work shall be the responsibility of the owner of the property requesting a new service connection. Utility impact fee credits for the old utility service connections shall be applied to any new utility service connections being applied for by the property owner within 30 days of the old service connection being abandoned.
