Chapter 13.20 PREVENTION OF CROSS CONNECTION TO THE WATER SYSTEM
Section 13.20.130 Violations.
A. Service of water to a consumer found to be in violation
of this chapter shall be
discontinued by the City after written notice of the violation, and appropriate time
suspended for voluntary compliance, and the due process entitlement otherwise extended
by the City before termination of water service. A violation exists if:
1. A backflow prevention assembly required by this chapter
for control of cross
connections is not installed, tested or maintained;
2. If it is found that a backflow prevention assembly
has been removed or bypassed;
3. If an unprotected cross connection exists on the premises;
4. If the
backflow prevention device / assembly test required by the provisions of
this chapter
has not been conducted.
B. Where written notification of a deficiency is provided
by the City, in the event of
the failure by the consumer to take the required corrective action within ten (10) days
after the date of mailing such notice, the City shall immediately discontinue water service
in accordance therewith. Water service will not be restored until all such conditions or
defects are corrected.
C. In addition to any penalty provided herein, violation
of this chapter shall be a class
