Prior to the adoption of Ord. 2000-04 on 06/26/2000, Section 16.04.305 read as follows.

    Animals  ordinarily permitted in the house and/or residences and kept for the company or pleasure not for profit.   of residents, such as domesticated birds, domesticated cats and domesticated dogs.  Household pets also include tropical fish, amphibians, reptiles, or invertebrates of a number that do not constitute a health hazard or nuisance and can safely and humanely be kept i aquariums, cages, or enclosures within a residence. Household pets do  shall not include the keeping of farm "vicious animals", "wild animals" or "livestock" as defined in Title 6 of the Vernal City code.   nor any animals that are likely to inflict harm or discomfort or endanger the health, safety or welfare of any person or property. Furthermore, household pets shall not include miniature horses, pygmy goats, and vietnamese pot-bellied pigs. (PZSC § 03-15-061)(Ord. No. 96-12, Amended, 06-19-96)
