Section 16.08.010 Membership--Term--Removal.

    A.    The Planning Commission shall consist of seven (7) members and three (3) alternate members. One (1) member, but not more than two (2) members, shall be members of the City Council, and the remainder shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council from among the duly qualified electors of the City. Planning Commission members shall be appointed to serve for a period of four (4) years. Each member of the Planning Commission shall serve until the expiration of the term for which he is appointed and until his successor is appointed and qualified. Any vacancy occurring during the term of any member of the planning commission by reason of death, resignation, removal or disqualification shall be promptly filled by the Mayor and City Council for the unexpired portion of the term. Any member may be removed for cause by the City Council upon written charges after a public hearing, if such hearing is requested.
    B.    Alternative members shall have no voting privileges except when to fill a vacancy caused by the temporary absence of a regular member. (PZSC § 03-03-001)
