Section 16.10.010 Appointment--Term--Removal.

    The Board of Adjustment shall consist of three (3) members and one (1) alternate, each to be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council for a term of five (5) years.   No member of the Board of Adjustment / Appeal Authority shall also serve as a member of the City Council or the Planning Commission / Land Use Authority.   Any member or alternate member may be removed for cause by the City Council upon written charges and after a public hearing, if such public hearing is requested. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term of any member or alternate member whose term becomes vacant by the Mayor with consent of the City Council. The alternate member shall have no voting privileges except when a member be temporarily unable to act owing to the absence from the City, illness, interest in a case before the Board or any other cause, and when the alternate member is needed to create a full quorum of three (3) members.
