Prior to the adoption of Ord. 2005-07 on 06/01/2005, Section 16.12.030 read as follows.

A ~~nonconforming~~ noncomplying building or structure, or portion thereof, shall be deemed abandoned by nonuse during a continuous period of one (1) year. If a ~~nonconforming~~ noncomplying building or structure, or portion thereof, has been or is abandoned, the same shall not thereafter be occupied or used except for a use which conforms to the use regulations of the zone in which it is located.
