Section 2.82.010 Board created - appointment - term - officers.
Prior to the adoption of Ord. 2003-11 on 03/19/2003, Section 2.82.010 read as follows.
A. There shall be a municipal tree board consisting of
seven (7) members and (2)
alternates, each of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City
Council. All municipal tree board members shall be appointed to serve for a term of four
(4) years, providing, however that the first term of the board members shall be as follows:
Four (4) members, as determined by the Mayor, shall serve terms of four (4)
years and
three (3) members, as determined by the Mayor, shall serve terms of two (2) years.
Each member of the municipal tree board shall serve until the expiration of
the term for
which he is appointed and until a successor is appointed and qualified. Any vacancy
occuring during the term of any member of the municipal tree board by reason of death,
resignation, removal or disqualification shall be promptly filled by the Mayor and City
Council for the unexpired portion of the term. Any member may be removed for cause by
the City Council upon written charges after a public hearing, if such hearing is requested.
B. The municipal tree board shall, by majority vote,
select a chairman, vice chairman,
and secretary, each of who shall serve for a period of one year.
C. The municipal tree board shall meet at such times
and places as may be necessary
to discharge its duties and responsibilities.
D. The municipal tree board shall advise the Mayor and
City Council on all policies
and ordinances of the urban forestry program.
