Chapter 2.84 URBAN FORESTRY
Section 2.84.010 Purpose
A. It is the purpose of this Chapter to establish a comprehensive
urban forester
management system that will optimize forest related public benefits, enhance the natural
beauty of the City, ensure that the responsibilities of the City departments be coordinated
to encourage quality landscaping, increase public awareness of the benefit of urban
forestry, integrate the proper planting and maintenance of street trees and park trees with
other urban elements and amenities.
B. It is also the purpose of this Chapter to protect
and promote the public health,
safety and general welfare of the people of the City through regulation of the planning,
planting, maintenance and removal of trees when necessary in order to protect and
enhance the environment and abate hazardous conditions within the City.
