Section 3.24.030 Amount of impact fee.

A. The amount of each water and sewer development impact fee to be charged in connection with each new residential, industrial and commercial development is established as follows:

1. Water Development Impact Fees

5/8" x 3/4" Meter $ 1000.00

1" Meter $ 1250.00

11/2" Meter $ 2250.00

2" Meter $ 3250.00

3" Meter $ 10,000.00

4" Meter $ 15,000.00

2. Sewer Development Impact Fees

a) Each Residential Dwelling Unit $ 1500 /connection (30 fixture units)

b) Industrial & Commercial: $ 1500 base cost + plumbing fixture unit cost in excess of base as per Uniform Plumbing Code.

Example:

Commercial Development has 120 fixture units. Impact fee calculation:

120 ÷ 30 = 4; $ 1500 x 4 = $ 6000 impact fee

3. RV Drive Through Sewer Dump Sites - $1500 / site.

B. The Vernal City Council may adjust the development impact fees as provided herein in order to:

1. Respond to unusual circumstances in specific cases, and;

2. Ensure that the impact fees are imposed fairly.

3. Allow for such adjustment when further information by way of studies and data indicate the fee should be different.

C. Development fees to be paid under the provisions of this chapter may be waived by action of the City Council for low income housing projects and other development activities with broad public purposes. Financial impacts to the City or its utility systems associated with these developments may be paid by any other City funds or utility funds as specified by the City Council.
