Chapter 5.12 LICENSE CLASSIFICATIONS
Section 5.12.010 Generally.
This classification for licensing was developed for use in
the classification of establishments
doing business in Vernal City, by type of activity in which they are engaged, and for promoting
uniformity and equality in the assessment of license taxes and/or fees. The basis for the
classification system is the "Standard Industrial Classification Manual 1972," prepared by
the
Statistical Policy Division, Executive Office of Management and Budget (U.S. Government
Printing Office, Washington D.C., stock number 4101-0066), which is made a part of this chapter
by reference as published in book form and is made a part of the revised ordinances of the City as
though herein fully printed, and shall be effective upon filing three (3) copies of the same with
the City Recorder. The descriptions of the several industrial classification groups (three (3) digit
number codes) and of the several industrial classification industries (four (4) digit number codes)
shall be used by the City License Clerk in determining the most appropriate classification in
which to place any business applying for a business license under the provisions of this title.
