Section 5.20.230 License--Application--Investigation and report.

    All applications for licenses provided in this chapter, together with such information and certificate as required by the City to be attached thereto, before being acted upon by the City Licensing Clerk , shall be referred to the Chief of Police for investigation and report. The Chief of Police shall, within ten (10) days after receiving such application, make report to the City Licensing Clerk  of the moral reputation and character of the applicant, the general reputation and character of the persons who habitually frequent the premises for which license is being requested, the nature of the kind of business conducted at such premises by the applicant or by any other person or by the applicant at any other premises; whether the premises is or has been conducted in a lawful, quiet and orderly manner; the nature and kind of entertainment, if any, at the premises; whether gambling is or has been permitted upon the premises, or by the applicant at any other premises; the proximity of the proposed premises to any church or school and any other matters pertinent to the license. The Chief of Police shall add his recommendation as to the granting or denying of the application. (Prior code § 11-05-023)
