Section 5.24.050 License--Application--Investigation--Recommendation.

    All applications for licenses provided in this chapter, together with such information and certificate as is required by the City to be attached thereto, before being acted upon by the City Council shall be referred to the Chief of Police for investigation and report. The Chief of Police shall, within ten (10) days after receiving such application, make report to the City Council of the moral reputation and character of the applicant, the general reputation and character of the persons who habitually frequent the place of business for which the license is asked, the nature and kind of business conducted at such place by the applicant or by any other person, or by the applicant at any other place; whether the place is or has been conducted in a lawful, quiet and orderly manner; the nature and kind of entertainment, if any, at the place; whether gambling is or has been permitted upon the premises, or by the applicant at any other place; the proximity of the proposed place of business to any church or school and any other matters pertinent to the license.
