Chapter 5.36 TEMPORARY MERCHANTS
Section 5.36.154 Mobile food vending - prohibited conduct.
The following restrictions shall apply to any mobile food vending vehicle within the
rights-of-way of Vernal City
A. No mobile food vending vehicle may be stopped or parked:
1. On a sidewalk;
2. Within thirty (30) feet of an intersection;
3. Within twenty (20) feet of a crosswalk;
4. Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction
when stopping or
parking would obstruct traffic;
5. In front of a public or private driveway;
6. Within thirty (30) feet of any flashing signal, stop
or yield sign, or traffic control
signal.
7. In front of a curb area which has been constructed
to provide accessibility to the
sidewalk.
B. No person authorized to engage in the business of vending under this Chapter
shall
do any of the following:
1. Unduly obstruct pedestrian or motor vehicle traffic
flow;
2. Obstruct traffic signals or regulatory signs;
3. Stop, stand, or park any vehicle, pushcart, or any
other conveyance upon any street
for the purpose of selling during the hours when stopping, standing, and parking have
been prohibited by signs or curb markings.
4. Leave any conveyance unattended at any time, or store,
park, or leave such
conveyance on a public street or unauthorized property.
5. Sell any goods, wares, or merchandise within the right-of-way
of any public street
in a residential or hospital zone excepting any vendor selling exclusively ice cream,
frozen confectionaries, shaved ice or similar frozen dessert foods.
6. Operate any sound amplifier system contrary to the
provisions of Chapter 9.16 of
the Vernal City Municipal Code.
7. Conduct business on private residential property.
8. Conduct business on any property without first having
obtained the permission of
the property owner.
