Section 5.44.010 License--Application.

    Every application for a pawnbrokers license shall be made in writing to the License Clerk, and shall state where the business is to be carried on. Before any license is issued, the License Clerk shall refer the application to the Chief of Police. The Chief of Police shall, within ten (10) days after receiving such application, make report to the License Clerk of the moral reputation and character of the applicant, the general reputation and character of the persons who habitually frequent the place of business for which license is asked, or by the applicant at any other place, and any other matters pertinent to the license. The Chief of Police shall add his recommendation as to the granting or denying of the application. (Prior code § 11-11-001)
