Section 5.72.130 License - term

    A.   Except as provided in this Section,  sexually oriented businesses and employee licenses  issued pursuant to this Chapter shall be valid from the date of issuance through January 1st of each succeeding year.
    B.   Any business license issued pursuant to this Chapter will expire no later than ten (10)  days following the continuous closure or cessation of business operations for which the license  was  issued, except when cessation or closure is required to repair damage caused by flood,  fire, earthquake, or other natural disaster.
    C.   The license fees required under this Chapter shall not be prorated for any portion of a year but shall be paid in full regardless of the portion of the year the license is applied for.    
    D.    A license issued pursuant to this section shall be subject to annual renewal upon the written application of the applicant and a finding by the City that the applicant has not been convicted of any "specified criminal activity" as defined in this ordinance, or committed any act during the existence of the previous license which would be grounds to deny the initial license application.  The decision whether to renew a license shall be made within thirty (30) days of the completed application.  The renewal of a license shall be subject to the fee as set forth in this ordinance.  Non-renewal of a license shall be subject to appeal as set forth in Section 5.72.160 (E).
