Section 6.20.020 Animals to be impounded.


Prior to the adoption of Ord. 2005-15 on 10/05/2005, Section 6.20.020 read as follows.

    A.    Animal control officer:
    The Animal Control Officer shall place all animals which he takes into custody impounds in the animal sheltera designated animal impound facility. The following animals may be impounded: taken into custody by the Animal Control Officer in accordance with Sections 6.08.010 and 6.20.010 and impounded without the filing of a complaint:
    A.        1.    Any animal being kept or maintained contrary to the provisions of this title;
    B.        2.    Any animal running at large contrary to the provisions of this title;
    C.        3.    Sick or injured animals whose owner cannot be located;
    D.        4.    Any abandoned animal;
    E.        5.    Animals which are not vaccinated for rabies in accordance with Chapter 6.24 of this titlecode;
    F.        6.    Any animals to be held for quarantine;
    G.        7.    Any vicious animal not properly confined as required by Section 6.12.100;
    H.        8.    Any animal determined to be a nuisance as defined in Section 6.12.090 of this Title.
            9.    Any dog licensed under the provisions of Section 6.16.010.
    B.    Animal shelter manager:
    The animal shelter manager shall place and care for all animals which are taken into the animal shelter. (CC § 08-10-007)(Ord. No. 97-16, Amended, 10-1-97)
