Section 6.20.050 Redemption and adoption.

    A.    The owner of any impounded animal, or his authorized representative, or purchaser of an adopted animal, may claim  or acquire  such animal before further disposition, provided he pays:
        1.    The impound fee or adoption fee ;
        2.    The daily board charge  on all reclaimed impounded animals ;
        3.    Veterinarian costs incurred during the impoundment period  on reclaimed animals ;
        4.     For the insertion of a mandatory identification chip or prepayment of the chip if the animal is too young for insertion at the time of claim or adoption.     
        5.    Sterilization   prepayment as provided in Chapter 6.22.  
    B.    Fees to be charged for the services described in subsection A of this section shall be set by resolution of the Vernal City Council.
     C.    The owner of any impounded animal or his authorized representative, or purchaser of an adopted animal, may claim or adopt such animal before further disposition provided he also, in writing, agrees to have such animal vaccinated for rabies, sterilized if the animal is adopted, and licensed according to the provisions of this Title within thirty (30) days after claiming or adopting such animal.  Failure to comply with the terms of the reclaim or adoption contract shall be deemed to be a violation of this Title.
