Section 6.24.040 Impoundment of animals without valid rabies vaccination tag.

    A.    Any vaccinated animal impounded because of lack of a rabies vaccination tag may be claimed by its owner by furnishing proof of rabies vaccination and payment of all impoundment fees prior to release.
    B.    Any unvaccinated animal may be claimed provided that the owner of such animal agrees in writing to have such animal vaccinated for rabies within thirty (30) days after claiming such animal.  Failure to have such animal vaccinated within thirty (30) days after agreeing in writing to do so shall be deemed to be a violation of this title.
    C.    Any animal not reclaimed prior to the claim period as provided in this title shall be disposed of pursuant to provisions of Section  6.24.030.   (CC § 08-10-017 (4))
