Prior to the adoption of Ord. 2007-35 on 11/07/2007, Section 8.12.060 read as follows.

     Residential storage containers shall not exceed thirty-five (35) gallon capacity and shall be a tapered can without rings excepting any containers specifically designed to be picked up by automated collection equipment. Residential storage containers excepting automated storage containers, shall not weigh in excess of sixty-five (65) pounds maximum when filled. All containers must have handles and lids for safety and sanitation, and shall be insect and rodent proof. The containers shall be covered when not in use.  Plastic bags manufactured specifically for refuse collection are acceptable. The bag opening shall be secured tightly and the maximum weight of the bags when filled shall not exceed forty (40) pounds.  
    All residential garbage and waste matter to be collected shall be placed in an automated storage container provided by the hauler or the City.  Containers shall be placed at curb side no later than 7:30 a.m. on the day of collection and if multiple containers are used at any one residence, such containers shall be placed five (5) feet from each other.
