A.    It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to keep all stolen property that comes into the possession of the Police Department or any of its members, and all reasonable efforts shall be made to discover the owners and restore the property to the owners. Disposition of lost or stolen property shall be accomplished as provided by law.

    B.    The Chief of Police shall make full report to the City Director of Finance for the amount of money received at any sale of lost or stolen property, and the moneys received less actual expenses at the sale shall be handed over to the City Treasurer for final disposition as provided by law.
