Section 9.40.010 General duties.

    A.    The office of the City Traffic Board is established. The City Traffic Board shall consist of the Mayor, and the Public Safety Committee of the City Council. The Chair of the Public Safety Committee shall serve as the Chair of the Traffic Board.    The Streets Superintendent, Chief of Police, City Attorney, and the City Manager shall serve as staff to the Traffic Board.  The Board shall exercise the powers and duties as provided in the ordinance codified herein and in the traffic ordinances of this City.
    B.    It shall be the general duty of the City Traffic Board to determine the installation and proper timing and maintenance of traffic control devices, to conduct engineering analysis of traffic accidents and to devise remedial measures, to conduct engineering investigations of traffic conditions, to plan the operation of traffic on the streets and highways of this City, and to cooperate with other City officials in the development of ways and means to improve traffic conditions and to carry out the additional powers and duties imposed by ordinances of this City.
