Section 9.44.190 Large vehicles and vehicles with dangerous loads.
Prior to the adoption of 99-14 on 07/21/1999, Section 9.44.190 read as follows.
A. No vehicle licensed or actually
used for gross weight in excess of twenty-eight thousand
(28,000) pounds, and no vehicles carrying explosive, corrosive and flammable liquids, shall be
parked on any street within the corporate limits of Vernal City other than those streets and
highways designated in Section 9.60.100 as truck routes in Vernal City; provided, however, that
parking on such truck routes shall not be allowed if prohibited by any other law or ordinance of
Vernal City or posted signage of the City.
B. Exceptions. This section shall
not apply to:
1. Delivery vehicles delivering merchandise
to or from local businesses or established truck
terminals or to residences for delivery where it is not possible to use a designated truck route;
2. Construction vehicles delivering
to or returning from construction sites where it is not
possible to use a designated truck route;
3. Emergency vehicles upon any street
in Vernal City;
4. Vehicles upon any officially established
detour in any case where such truck could
lawfully be operated upon the street for which such detour is established;
5. Any street in an industrially-zoned
area of the City;
6. School buses delivering children
to or from school;
7. Vehicles traveling on 500 North
Street east of Vernal Avenue for the purpose of
delivering garbage to or returning from the Vernal City/Uintah County Landfill. (TC § 07-08-023)
