Section 9.64.010 Authority to prosecute violations.

    A.    The City Attorney may prosecute violations of City ordinances, and under state law, infractions and misdemeanors occurring within the boundaries of the municipality, and has the same powers in respect to the violations as are exercised by a county attorney, including, but not limited to, granting immunity to witnesses. The City Attorney shall represent the interests of the state or the municipality in the appeal of any matter prosecuted in any trial court by the City Attorney. (UCA 10-3-928)
    B.    In accordance with UCA 10-3-928, the City Attorney may prosecute violations of state law found in the Utah State Criminal Code, Title 76, in Title 58 concerning controlled substances, Section 78-3a-19 concerning offenses against children and all other violations of state law.
