Chapter 9.76 JUNKED MOTOR VEHICLES
Section 9.76.020 Definitions.
A. For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms,
phrases, words and their
derivations shall have the meaning given herein.
"City" means Vernal City.
"Junked motor vehicle" means any motor vehicle the condition of which
is wrecked,
dismantled, partially dismantled, inoperative, rusted, junked, abandoned or discarded, or
any parts thereof.
"Licensable motor vehicle" means any motor vehicle which is required
by law to be
licensed prior to its operation on public property and shall include, but is not limited to,
automobiles, buses, street motorcycles and trucks.
"Motor vehicle" means any vehicle which is self-propelled and designed
to travel along
the ground and shall include, but not be limited to, automobiles, buses, motorbikes,
motorcycles, motor scooters, trucks, tractors, campers and trailers.
"Owner" means any of the owners of any unlicensed motor vehicle or
junked motor
vehicle or any of the owners, lessees or occupants of any property upon which the vehicle
is located.
"Person" means any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation,
company or
organization of any kind.
"Private property" means any real property within the City which is
privately owned
and which is not public property as defined in this section.
"Public property" means any street or highway which includes the entire
width between
the boundary lines of every way publicly maintained for the purposes of vehicular travel,
and also means any other publicly-owned property or facility.
"Unlicensed motor vehicle" means any motor vehicle motor vehicle,
as defined by
Section 9.76.020, which does not have lawfully affixed thereto an unexpired license plate
or plates.
"Zoning Enforcement Officer" means the Zoning Enforcement Officer
or Building
Inspector
of Vernal City.
B. When not inconsistent with the context, words used
in the present tense include
the future, words in the plural number include the singular number, and words in the
singular number include the plural number. The word "shall" is always mandatory and not
